Sisters Dialogue Safe Healing Spaces Workshops for Muslim Women Survivors of Sexual Violence

This project is titled, "The Dandelions Among Us;" a metaphor for the prevalent and deeply rooted nature of sexual violence, and how victims often feel devalued by society despite the bountiful beauty and benefits dandelions afford to our environment. The project aims to resource those affected by sexual violence in the Muslim community and to help the participants learn new modalities of healing in a culturally safe space.

Our community cannot move forward without first addressing our roots, and we cannot address our roots without the unearthing - the unravelling - of all that we’ve buried. The topic of sexual violence is still taboo within the Muslim Community, and victims are often afraid to seek help or talk about their experiences due to the shame they’ve been burdened to carry.

If you’re interested in joining the program, please complete the intake form that will be reviewed by the therapists facilitating. If you have any questions, please reach out to Sisters Dialogue.

Cost: Free for those who identify as Muslim women

The free workshops will take place on two Sundays - December 4 and December 11, 2022, from 2 to 5 pm.
